Loosened skin on the buttocks and a crease beneath them that has deepened with weight change are on our own list of Exilis areas. In our practice the glutes are treated with the body handpiece, often with the inner thighs in one course. No published series names the buttocks, and we say so; the thigh and abdomen series measured circumference, and the mechanism is the same. Usually four weekly sessions of about 30 minutes, with warmth that builds and is adjusted with you, and no downtime. Every treatment is given by Dr Marie Duggan, GMC 7488383, at Exilis London, 130 Harley Street, London, W1G 7JU, with the price in writing at a free consultation.
What it does on the buttocks
Exilis aims to firm the skin of the buttock and the fold beneath it by warming the layer under the skin to the temperature at which collagen contracts and new collagen is laid down over the following weeks. It does not lift or add volume, which a muscle treatment or a filler does, and it does not treat the structure that causes cellulite. The doctor says so where EMsculpt NEO at our sister clinic or another plan fits better.
What the studies measured
The 64-person combined-device series measured the thighs in 18 people and the abdomen in 40, with the circumference significantly lower a month after the fourth session; none measured the buttocks, and we say so. The thighs page sets out the nearest series.
The session and after
In our practice the skin is cleaned and a thin layer of gel or oil applied, a return pad is placed on your skin, and the handpiece is moved over each buttock while the warmth builds. Pink, warm skin afterwards that settles over hours, and you go straight back to your day. Usually four weekly sessions, then the review one to three months after the last, where we photograph in our practice.
Who it suits
In our practice, an adult with early loosening of the skin on the buttocks or the crease beneath, who will keep their weight steady through the course. Not with a pacemaker or other internal electronic device, metal implants in the hip, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or an active skin infection. The thighs page covers the area most often treated with it, and the full guide the rest.
