EXILIS

Exilis for the décolletage in London

The chest between the collarbones and the top of the bust shows sun and sleep early: vertical lines, crepey texture and mottled colour. In our practice the decolletage is treated with the Exilis handpiece at a low setting over the thin skin of the chest, adjusted with you. No Exilis series has measured the chest and no US clearance names it, and we say so plainly. Usually four weekly sessions, about 20 minutes each in our practice, with no downtime. Every treatment is given by Dr Marie Duggan, GMC 7488383, at Exilis London, 130 Harley Street, London, W1G 7JU, with the price in writing at a free consultation.

What it does on the chest

The radiofrequency warms the skin to the temperature at which collagen contracts and new collagen is laid down over the following weeks, and the aim is that the crepey texture tightens and the vertical lines soften. It does not change the colour of sun-damaged skin, which needs a different treatment, and the doctor says so.

What the studies measured

None measured the chest, and we say so; the mechanism is the one measured on the face and the body, set out on the face page and the full guide.

The session and after

In our practice the skin is cleaned and a thin layer of gel applied, a return pad is placed on your skin, and the handpiece is moved across the chest while the warmth builds. Pink, warm skin afterwards that settles over hours, and you go straight back to your day, with sunscreen on the chest. Usually four weekly sessions, then the review one to three months after the last, where we photograph in our practice.

Who it suits

In our practice, an adult with crepey skin and vertical lines on the chest who wants it to match a treated face and neck, with a comfortable course and nothing through the skin. Not with a pacemaker or other internal electronic device, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or an active skin infection; breast implants are discussed at the consultation. The neck page covers the neck above, and the full guide the rest.
