Exilis for under the chin in London

A soft double chin, loose skin under the chin with a small layer of fat, is the lower face in BTL's own treatment tabs for Exilis. The handpiece warms the skin and the layer beneath at a setting the doctor adjusts with you, and no published series names the area under the chin on its own, and we say so. Usually four weekly sessions, about 20 minutes each in our practice, with no downtime. What it does under the chin

The radiofrequency warms the skin to the temperature at which collagen contracts and new collagen is laid down over the following weeks. The aim is that the skin under the chin tightens and the line from the chin to the neck sits cleaner. On the body the series measured a smaller circumference, and no study has measured fat under the chin. A large fat pad is a fat-reduction question, and the doctor advises at the consultation whether fat freezing is the better route, with Exilis afterwards if the skin needs tightening.

What the studies measured

The face and body series measured the face as a whole and the circumference of the abdomen, arms and thighs; none names the area under the chin, and we say so. The face page and the belly fat page set out what was measured, and the mechanism is the same under the chin.

The session and after

In our practice the skin is cleaned and a thin layer of gel applied, a return pad is placed on your skin, and the handpiece is moved under the chin while the warmth builds. Pink, warm skin afterwards that settles over hours, and you go straight back to your day. Usually four weekly sessions, then the review one to three months after the last, where we photograph in our practice.

Who it suits

In our practice, an adult with a soft double chin that is mostly skin, with skin that still has elasticity, who wants a comfortable course with nothing through the skin. Not with a pacemaker or other internal electronic device, metal implants in the area, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or an active skin infection.
